I was brought on the team as a freelance designer to help create their brand identity. The project goal was create a modern and neutral logo to use across all channels, a short brand guideline and a presentation template for the team to pitch to investors. The only parameters I had to follow was to not including golf equipment graphics within the logo. We wanted it to be less intimidating and appeal to all golfers no matter their skill level.

About the Concept
The logo centers around the ‘G’ and ‘X’ working together simultaneously. The negative space of the ‘G’ represents a golf swing speed meter. The tail of the mete extended into the ‘X’ merging the two letters together.
Previous Concepts
The first logo created is never the final product. Enjoy three other logos presented to the client.

For this concept I manipulated the typography on the lower-case ‘G’. The ear of the ‘G’ extends outwards, opening up the negative space and revealing an illusion that a golf ball is sitting on a tee.

The bold twists and curves in concept two reflect the path of a golf course. It mimics the teeing ground, the rough and other hazards golfers are challenged with during the game.

The last concept focuses on the flag stick. Although the flag is considered “golf equipment”, I wanted to show an option regardless since the flag stick is important to the game.
